VeEveryone has a wish to buy a car for their family. But some cars take off a huge portion of our income. So we choose the way to buy it in a rental. Obviously, I did the same when I choose my first one. But all of us have a question raised in their mind while buying a used car. You can get a clear and 3D view of answer for that question in this guide. The question comes below.

Should I buy a former car? If yes then what have to check before buying it?

If you want a former car then have to check the issues with the car before buying it. Here I show the 10 basic things to inspect for the used car.

1.      Vehicle History:

First of all, give preference to a vehicle which is well known to you. (i.e.) The vehicle from your friends, colleague or relatives. Because that vehicle history is well known to you. Choose the vehicle which is handled by one person for their personal use. If you do not seem that kind of vehicle then go for good and trusted auto media Vehicle Company or agencies that give full dedicated test report for the vehicle. They will provide vehicle history for the particular vehicle which you choose.

2.      Previous Accidents:

Check whether the vehicle had met any accident. If the vehicle met that kind of accidental issues then it will definitely go for an insurance claim. Only small issues reached out to a workshop. Some untrusted agencies hide this information be aware of it.

3.      Flood damage:

Some cars look like very new one but it may get a damaged flood like natural calamities. Don’t pick that kind of cars the visual of it may make you mad off. So check the watery history of the car by inspecting whether it had any rust or corrosion inside.

4.      Odometer discrepancies:

Odometer in the can able to read the miles of the car from its initial startup. By using this you can easily analyse the driven miles of a car. Check with the car whether it has any discrepancies with it. If yes then don’t buy it.

5.      Oil Changes:

It is very important to check engine of the car. Because it’s like a heart of a car. Four following things shows the condition of the car engine.

  • Smoke

The colour of the smoke which comes from the outlet exhaust shows the condition of the car. Let get the full details of it. Mostly diesel car produces some smoke but if you buy a petroleum car then you have to note that the colour of the smoke which is in light blue is normal in an old car.

If the colour is in dark blue it is not a good one to buy. If it is in dark black that means car burns more fuel and has more carbon accumulation don’t buy that.

  • Oil quality

Inspect oil quality by dipping a stick if it comes out with mud sticky layers then it means that the engine is not maintained with a proper oil change.

  • Coolant

Antifreeze which acts as a coolant that helps to keep your car engine in cool condition. If an owner does not consider about this coolant some rust get deposits over some parts of an engine. To check that open your radiator and test for any rust in the cap.

  • Noises in the engine

Start your car in cold state and notice clearly whether it produce any noise of metal or unwanted noise which is not normal (grinding, clunking or some other). This can be easily identified by you when you take it up for a test drive. If it seems to be noisy then don’t take the car in choice. Notice that it is very expensive to rebuild a car engine system again.

6.      Tire rotation:

This is an advanced testing that is mostly done by dedicated second-hand car sale agencies. You can also test it when buying. Five type of rotation involved during this test

  • Rear cross
  • X Pattern
  • Forward Cross
  • Front to Rear
  • Side to side

7.      Driven Miles:

Try to buy a car which driven very fewer miles. For example, if a car has guaranteed 10,000 miles for 10 years and you buy the car in the year of 5. Then it should be driven 5000 miles or less. Calculate like this and buy it.

Pros and cons of buying a second-hand car:

Benefits:

If you buy through any strict agencies then they follow a strict inspection of the car that reduces some burden from your side. They provide full maintenance history to you including tire rotation test.

They inspect more professionally better than you including bargaining the cost to the pre owners. Some other agencies do additional service to the car such as fixing defects of a car with actual amount. The only thing the leave for us is signing of paper. They need some commission for this service.

If you buy it by yourself then you have to follow the above instructions which I gave to you that get a benefit of buying a used car.

Drawbacks:

Some may choose the car by an external view and they failed soon. At the same time, we don’t know how many people handle that car previously.

Some may use rash driving and sudden break over the car. You may use soft handle over it. The car adapt all kind of driving styles that may affect the potential ability of the car.

Hope you get an idea to buy a used car now. Choose your best. Enjoy driving.
