“Time and Tide waits for none”

Everybody have some sweet memories which cannot be forget easily, always haunting, however we tries to avoid, but still haunting, until our death, even sometimes after that!!!.Most of the people want those times back. In Fiction stories we had come across the term “Time machine” through which we can travel to long past. Many people tried this, but no one succeeded!!!

Whoever may be, Time cannot be reversed!!!Once it’s done forever done!!!

If we find the way to travel to long past, it will quench the thirsts of most people who are longing to roll back time. But in real world is this possible???Definitely we humans are not God. We can’t do this!!!

But science is more powerful. It will not accept anything as impossible simply because of assumptions. According to science if someone is telling something as impossible, it is not actually impossible, the solution has not invented yet for the particular problem!!!

So is the time reverse is possible??? This article deals with the theory of relativity and time travel concepts.

One fine morning I was eagerly waiting for the sun rise!!!The gentle breeze on that early morning went inside my hair and ear to make some chill effect which can’t be described so easily!!!That day was pongal and I was waiting for the sun to appear.

Sparrows were singing strange music’s. The sky slowly became gold and then some kind of orange!!!

Yes, the Sun appeared slowly and was glowing brightly!!!As I am an engineer (Kidding:-P) I calculated the angle between the sun and earth approximately. It is 20 degree from the earth (east)!!!

Is the sun truly was there when I saw it?? Is my eyes lied to me??To know this we have to know some science.

The sun’s rays approximately take 6 seconds to reach the earth surface. The Light which I was seeing started 6 seconds back from the sun and now it was reaching the earth (my eyes)!!!

So the light which I was seeing is started actually 6 seconds back from the sun. So where is the sun actually now??

The picture of sun I was seeing now was not the actual image of sun. The sun was there before 6 seconds. Now it was somewhere.

So literally I was seeing the place in which sun appeared 6 seconds back!!! Now it was not actually there!!!!

So I was seeing the past (6 seconds back)!!!

You little bit confused???!!!!!! Ok, try this simple thing. Wait for today’s night. Go to your terrace. Watch the mysterious sky. See the stars. Focus on one particular star. The star will glow very bright. Is the star truly exists??Is your eyes are cheating you??

Suppose, consider you are seeing the star at 10.00 PM. At 10.00 PM the star really exists??

Definitely not!!! The star you are seeing now was there long back!!! Actually the distance between the star and the earth is very long (millions of light year).So the light from the star will take millions of years to reach the earth. So the star was there before million years. The image (light) had travelled millions of years to reach your eyes. So you are seeing the image of the star, not the actual star!!!

Before million years the star was there!!!

Literally you are seeing the image which lasted million years ago. Now the star is not there. It’s life had exhausted long before(million years)!!!!

So now you are seeing the things which were there long before (millions of years).

It’s because you are very far from the star!!!It’s because the light had travelled for millions of year!!!

Literally you had entered the age some million years ago!!!

So, here you can find some relation between distance and time!!!!

Still confusing??Consider another example.

Consider, you and me are travelling in separate bikes in a highway. I am riding my bike at 100 Kms per hour. I am not going to stop anywhere. You are some 100 Kms far from me behind. So if you also travel at 100Kms per hour, you can’t catch me at any point.  If you travel at some higher speed (200 Kms per hour) then you can catch me at somewhere at some point of time.

So there is some relation between space (distance), time and speed.

Now come back to the example of star scenario. Consider the light had travelled 100 million years to reach your eyes. That is you are seeing the image of the star existed before 100 million years. Before 50 million years the same image (light) was at the half distance (middle) from star. Otherwise we can say like this also. The image of the same star before some 50 million years is now at the middle of the star and earth. So if you go to the middle of the earth and star now, you can see the image of the star some 50 million years ago. How you can go immediately to that place.

We are seeing things because light from the object is entering our eyes. So the light from the star is travelling continuously without stopping then how you catch that light (image 50 million years ago).

For that, you have to travel faster than light!!!Light is travelling at a speed (approx.) of 300000000 m/sec. Even the fastest vehicle invented by man (Apollo module by NASA) will travel at a speed of 10208.7 m/sec. So it is not possible to travel at the speed of light!!!

Even when vehicles tries to travel at the speed of sound, sound barrier will appear (supersonic boom), making the speed even greater than the sound unachievable!!!This is nature’s one of the barrier, may be God’s barrier to stop the man from overcoming the nature!!!

So if we travel faster than the speed of light, there may be a chance to see the past!!!

Now come to our earth. Here if you want to see the long past, is it possible??Normally you are seeing the objects because light from the object is entering your eyes. In the case of star it is generating the light. But in the earth, the case is very different. You are seeing the objects because your eyes are receiving the reflected light from the object. You cannot see the objects in complete darkness. Otherwise we can say like this. The objects are not emitting light. So if you want to see the long past you have to capture the light rays emitted at that moment.

Yes, your camera is also a simple time machine!!! It captures the light from long past (light rays reflected from the objects at that particular moment) and stores in a paper form. That’s why we are seeing the old Chennai in photos long before independence!!!!

Still Confusing??Let me tell the truth openly. In this world the way to see the dynamic past(entering into the past) is not invented yet. May be in future we can achieve that. But who knows the nature’s plan??According to me, Human can’t overcome the nature!!!It is too big to understand!!!May be someone will refer the same nature as God!!!
