Finally  DIRECTV NOW app beta on Roku players is available now for your testing. Since it is a beta version you can test and provide your feedback they can update in the future version.

This is the only time that DIRECTV NOW’s Roku Beta testing team can setup DVR recordings and they follow them on Roku devices.

AT&T specify earlier that

‘it is important that users be able to skip commercials’

Do you want to set up new recordings in DIRECTV NOW’s DVR Beta on Roku Players or Roku TVs? Here follow the below steps to achieve it.

STEPS TO FOR NEW RECORDINGS:

As of now you can only stream the live programs and record it from the Roku device.

Step 1: Go to settings and update the system to latest  DIRECTV NOW beta version.

Step 2: Stream the video by selecting ‘Watch Now’ option.

Step 3: Now Press down symbol and go to the ‘Guide’ Menu. That takes you to the ‘Show browsing’ screen. In that, you can see Popular TV shows, Movies, Sports etc.

Step 4: Choose one of your favorites. Here I’m choosing one series.

 

Step 5: That takes you to New Screen. In that, you have two option

• Record Series
• Add Series to Bookmarks

Step 6: Choose ‘Record Series’ option. From that, it is Ask ‘Which Episode?’. Below that it leave a choice to select two option.

• All Episode.
• New Episode.

Step 7: Choose Option for your wish. Here I’m choosing ‘All Episode’. Below that it has two buttons to make confirm. They are

• Record this Series
• Cancel

Step 8: Select ‘Record this Series’ button.

Step 9: Its Show one confirmation Screen for your visibility. Choose ‘OK’ option in that.

The above steps show you how to Record a video. In the same ways, you can record shows.

STEP TO VIEW THE RECORDED PROGRAM:

To view the program which you recorded earlier.

Step 1: Go to My Library option.

Step 2: Here you can get the recorded program lists.

In future, you will get the cloud DVR option. For Now, it provides good streaming recorder option. You can try it and leave command about what to improve in this beta version. The picture quality is also better from its previous one.
